How Azimuth works for real estate brokers in New York
A real estate broker on Azimuth runs a brokerage, supervises affiliated agents, and holds the same listing and client responsibilities as an agent.
A broker communicates with property owners and property managers about the properties the brokerage handles.
A broker is a point of contact for buyers interested in a listing. A buyer deals with the agent or broker on the property, not with the property manager and not with the owner.
A broker communicates with the agents affiliated with the brokerage.
Publish and manage listings for owners, exactly as an agent does.
Invite and supervise affiliated agents.
Manage brokerage details and the affiliated agent roster.
See off-market and premarket inventory that is not public.
Handle leasing enquiries, buyer clients, and applications.
Run comparative market analyses.
A broker account is limited until Azimuth has approved a licence document and brokerage details.
1. Create an account: Sign up and choose Real Estate Broker.
2. Land on the pending screen: The account goes to the account-pending screen. Listings, client tools, and agent supervision stay locked until verification.
3. Submit the licence document and brokerage details: Enter your brokerage details and upload your broker licence from that same screen. There is no separate submission page.
4. Azimuth reviews the document: An administrator approves or rejects it. Approving the document is what verifies the account.
5. Start working: The account unlocks. You can now invite affiliated agents, manage your brokerage profile, and work with buyer clients.
What is the difference between a broker account and an agent account?
A broker account includes the ability to invite and supervise affiliated agents and to manage the brokerage profile and agent roster. An agent account is for individual work; an agent can affiliate with a brokerage after verification, but cannot run one.
How do I add my agents?
After your account is verified, you can invite agents to join your brokerage from within the platform.
Does a broker need a licence document too?
Yes. A broker must upload a licence document from the account-pending screen, just like an agent. Approving that document is what verifies the account.
Who do buyers on my listings talk to?
Buyers deal with the agent or broker on the listing. They do not contact the property manager and do not contact the owner.
What listings can my affiliated agents see?
Affiliated agents see the same approved public listings any verified agent sees, plus off-market and premarket inventory that is not public. Visibility is not scoped to the brokerage — it extends to all verified agents and brokers on the platform.
Can a broker also own property on the platform?
A person can hold more than one role on Azimuth. The platform does enforce one constraint: the same person cannot occupy two opposing sides of the same relationship — for example, acting as both the owner and the manager of the same property.
