How Azimuth works for tenants renting in New York
A tenant on Azimuth rents a home managed through the platform, and deals with the property manager for rent, lease documents, and repairs.
A tenant communicates with the property manager for everything: rent, lease documents, and maintenance.
A tenant does not contact the property owner directly. The property manager handles the owner side.
The only exception is a late-payment or legal escalation, where the owner may have to intervene personally. This is never the default.
Only a tenant can open a repair request. A property manager may log one on your behalf after speaking with you, but it is still your request.
Pay rent and see the full payment history.
Read the lease in-app and upload a manually signed copy.
Store and retrieve lease documents shared by the manager.
Open a repair request and follow its status.
Message the property manager.
Receive renewal and expiration reminders before the lease end date when the feature is active.
A repair request goes from the tenant to the property manager, who approves the work and assigns a vendor.
1. Open the request: Describe the problem, add photos, and mark how urgent it is.
2. The property manager reviews it: The manager confirms the details and decides what work is needed. Owner approval is sought where the cost requires it.
3. A vendor is assigned: The property manager engages a service vendor and schedules the visit.
4. The work is done: The vendor completes the job and reports it back through the platform.
5. The request is closed: The status and the history stay on the request, so there is a record of what was fixed and when.
Who do I contact about a repair?
Contact your property manager through the platform. They will triage the request, confirm the details, and assign a vendor to do the work.
Can I contact the owner of my apartment?
No. Your property manager is the contact for everything — rent, documents, and maintenance. The one exception is a late-payment or legal escalation where the owner must intervene personally, and that is never the normal route.
How do I pay rent through Azimuth?
Rent payments are made through the platform. Your payment history and receipts stay on record for the duration of your tenancy.
Can I see my lease and my documents?
You can see your lease and any documents the property manager has shared with you and marked as visible to tenants. Documents the manager has not shared are not visible to you.
What happens when my lease is close to expiring?
The platform can send renewal and expiration reminders before the lease end date when the feature is active, so you and your manager can plan the next steps in time.
Do I need an invitation to create an account?
Sign-up is open to anyone. If your property manager has already invited you, use the invitation link in that email — it connects your account to your unit automatically.
